These latrines are the target of the project with the KC Plaza Rotary Club, the Limbe Rotary Club, Limbe, Malawi and the GIRC. The goal is to replace them with new building to provide sanitary conditions for the elementary schools supported by MCV MCV staff with Bill Schmidt, second from the right. Bill was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Malawi in the '60s Some of the orphans and

A message from the Limbe Rotary Club, Limbe Malawi, the local project managing club sent February 1, 2005:

Dear All

I am pleased to inform you the following progress on the above grant for Pit Latrines for the Malawi Children's Village:

1. The Project grant is for Eight Blocks x Six latrines each back to back (Three for Boys and Three for Girls

2. One Block is ready and in use by the students (see attachment no 4 & 5 )

3. One Block will be ready Mid February 2005 (see Attachment no 2 & 3 )

4. One Block will be ready by End February 2005 (see attachment 1 )

5. Work will commence on Two Block in March 2005 with the balance of units as progress develops

6. To date The Rotary Club of Limbe has had periodical visits to the site to supervise the progress

7. A sum of US$2000.00 has been paid out from the funds held under a dedicated foreign account

8. A further sum of US$5000.00 has been requested for the continuation of the project

9.All unites when completed will be sign written with the Rotary Logo host Club identities
